Enter Shikari – Warm Smiles Do Not Make You Welcome Here [VIDEO]
July 3, 2012 | By: admin
‘Warm Smiles Do Not Make You Welcome Here’ is the third single to be taken from Enter Shikari’s Top 5 album, ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’.
A comment on the homogenisation of modern music, the track is accompanied by a new promo video, directed and shot by RSM’s Raul Gonzo in LA, which gives a behind the scenes look at an average day in the post-hardcore clone factory (lest we forget, ‘by numbers’ pop music is not solely the output of television talent shows and expensive stage schools. The current alternative rock scene is more than capable in holding its end up in the desperate race to the middle of the road).
The single arrives while the band are in the middle of an extensive run of European festivals, which will culminate in high-profile main stage slots at Reading / Leeds 2012 (by the way; in Leeds on the Sunday, Rou & Rob will close out the entire event with a massive DJ set on the Relentless ‘Energy Sessions’ Arena late into the night).
To prove the case for their picking up ‘Best Live Band’ for the second time at this year’s Kerrang! Awards, whispers are already going around the Enter Shikari camp of UK dates later in the year, a potential headline trip to Australia, and a massive second US tour this year… and that’s all as well as the band’s third visit to Russia and first ever trip to South Africa this Autumn.
‘Warm Smiles…’ is available to download NOW from iTunes, Amazon MP3 and all good digital retailers. http://smarturl.it/warmsmiles
It comes as an EP bundle, accompanied by a brace of remixes including Mosquito, Tek-One, Azura and Tyler Mae who all offer their own unique takes on the track.
First up, Mosquito enter the fray. Those in the know will already know who these renowned producers are, and here they turn in a floor-shaking, earth-quaking electro house remix that’s packed with enough bass to cause havoc in just about any rave.
Tek-One are up next, a dubstep live act that have toured with Enter Shikari and made their name with the immense 140bpm anthem ‘Broken String,’ they offer a distincly dirty dubstep version of ‘Warm Smiles’ that’s got “dance floor killer” stamped all over it.
Bristolian producer Azura takes a break from recording for Studio Rockers and goes for a progressive and enthralling bass-led glitchy rework. And finally Tyler Mae blend up Enter Shikari’s original track with grime and dubstep until it’s bursting through your speakers with visceral bass energy.
