From the other side of the world, native to New Zealand Devilskin are due to release a new single ‘Start A Revolution’ on February 26th to celebrate and mark their first UK Tour. As with certain other bands with a political message to deliver ‘Start A Revolution’ taken from the band’s debut album ‘We Rise’ is a clear outcry that it is not too late to do something to change the world and a wake up call to us all. The song has a distinct and strong message warning people against complacency and touches upon pathos, desperation and fear. In 2015 this incredible band have supported the likes of Motley Crew, Alice Cooper and Slash in New Zealand and have earned a exceptional reputation by demonstrating commitment to unpretentious musical values.

This four piece band from Hamilton, New Zealand consists of Jennie Skulander on vocals, Nail and Paul Martin on guitars and Nick Martin on drums. Devilskin write songs containing a vast amount of depth and passion all the time retaining a relentless touring schedule. Promising that their UK shows will be “hard hitting, hot and sweaty” and entertain UK audiences “beyond their expectations” anticipation to see this band is at an all time high. The elements that make this band unique is Jennie Skulander’s exceptional voice that rips with power yet entices with sincerity and  melody as she sweeps from whisper to roar. Incredible vocals combined with the rest of the bands heavy rifts, and streamlined hard rock aimed at the arena circuit there are currently no competitors in this genre using their musical abitlity to change the world one song at a time. ‘We Rise’ has been in the top twenty New Zealand Album charts for seventy eight weeks while the video has had accumulated over 1.65 million views on You Tube.

Devilskin’s debut headline tour begins in Birmingham on February 18th and will end on the 28th. They are to include eight dates supported by Scarlett Riot. The full tour line up will be:

Devilskin’s We Rise UK February 2016 Tour dates

As a person with a large appreciation for alternative and diverse music I am ecstatic that this band from NZ have crashed the UK music scene and I will most certainly see this inspiring group at the London Underworld. If you enjoy catchy vocals alongside a heavy sound with a message then I would highly recommend one of these tour dates. Devilskin are most definitely the band to watch.
