Blitz Kids Slam Dunk South Review with Photos
May 28, 2014 | By: JennaHunter
British rockers Blitz Kids kick off the day with a short but sweet set made up mostly of their most recent album ‘The Good Youth’. They start the set off with anthemic ‘All I Want Is Everything’ a pop-punky melodic tune with great sing-alongs. For so early in the day and being the first band to grace the main stage they get a decent turn out and have people jumping around and enjoying themselves in no time at all. Catchy singles ‘Run For Cover’ and ‘Perfect’ get people bouncing and provide a perfect start to the day, loosening people up and getting ready for a day fuelled with good music and good times.
Their mixture of alternative and pop rock goes down a treat here at Slam Dunk and singer Jono Yates really knows how to get the crowd going, jumping around non-stop and putting all of the energy he can muster into his performance. The band play a storming set laced with catchy choruses and beats that get everyone moving. They end their set with ‘Sometimes’ followed by ‘On My Own’ and have proved themselves to be on the ones to watch list. If their short set here is anything to go by, they will be set for greater things for the rest of the year. With a few festival appearances, a European tour and their biggest UK headline tour to date in October, big things are expected from them. 7/10
