Every so often an album comes out that knocks your socks off. The Blackout, who are no stranger to the rock world now in 2009 after touring all over the world and being adored by millions, have done it again with 2009’s ‘The Best In Town’. There is a definite improvement in the quality of the recording and you can tell that maturity and sound progression has taken place but this album is nothing short of phenominal.

From track one it is a great album with the track ‘Shut The Fuck Uppercut’ which is anthemic in itself. But when you follow it on with both heavy and mellow tracks alike it makes it one of the most rounded albums to be released in a long time. This is an album that will convert any critic or fence sitter and with haunting but fantastic tracks like ‘Children of the Night’ and ‘I love myself and wanna live’ this is sure to be played over and over again for fans and converts alike.

So the only downside to this album is where can they go from here? well the answer im sure will appear sometime in the future but for now enjoy, buy and watch these Welsh boys live this summer and you will not be disappointed.

A truely amazing album 9/10!
