When the name “Bring Me The Horizon” appears on a festival bill you know two things: There will be absolute chaos and that some people will have their complaints.

BMTH have always been a cause for controversy, being rather like marmite in that you either love them or you hate them, however this year the crowd was extremely fond of them. This may have something to do with the absolutely flawless set they gave, along with their ability to make a cold crowd move. Circle pits spun at an almost constant rate the entire time they were onstage, and they truly did achieve some of the biggest walls of death of the weekend. They played a very good move by bringing back Pray For Plagues to their setlist, which turned out to be a huge crowd pleaser.
However the most prominent part of their entire performance was the crowd interaction. Both Jona Weinhofen (guitars) and Matt Kean (bass) entered the crowd for a substantial amount of time, Matt reaching all the way to the back to climb the stairs of the sound tower and play the end of Chelsea Smile whilst bent over the balcony, and Jona returning to the stage only to climb up in front of the big screens to finish the set off. All in all BMTH’s performance at reading was truly one of the best of the weekend. We at RI give their performance a ten out of ten.
